Police admit Inspector voted for APC during primary

The Police in Kano have admitted that an Inspector of Police casted his vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC) in the North Central State.

The Zone 1 Command of the Police in Kano admitted on Tuesday that the officer voted at the Kano State congress of the All Progressives Congress. He casted his vote twisting his loyalty to his principal and the State Party Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas.

A statement by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Ambursa made available to Irohinoorua identified the police officer as Bashir Mohammed of the Special Protection Unit, Base 1, Kano.

The Inspector is on official assignment at the Government House, Kano

Currently he was deployed to the office of Abbas.

The Kano Police Command said, “In view of this seemingly unprofessional conduct of the inspector, the AIG (Assistant Inspector General of Police) has referred the matter to the Zonal X-Squad for investigation.

The police said the Inspector is found to have committed the offence adding that appropriate disciplinary action would be taken against him.

The police promised to update the public on developments
