Former Speaker Ghali Na’Abba dies after prolonged illness

Another death has occured. The former Speaker of the House of Representaivea, Hon Ghali Na’Abba is dead.
He died on Wednesday, his aide said. Na’Abba was a flamboyan political leader who led the House of Representive with the flag of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).
He died at the National Hospital, Abuja. He left 10 children and some grandchildren.

The news came amidst reports of the death of Ondo State Governor, Olurotimi Akeredolu.
Ghali Na’Abba is expected to be buried today in line with Islamic injunction.
Ghali Umar Na’Abba was born on September 27, 1958.
The late Na’Abba attended Jakara Primary School, Kano, in 1969, where he obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.
He was a product of Rumfa College, Kano, for his secondary education. He also attended Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, between 1976 and 1979.
From ABU He obtained a degree in political science.
Na’Abba started his political career with the radical People’s Redemption Party (PRP).
He enlisted as a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 1998 when he represented Kano Municipal Federal Constituency in 1999.
Ousted Ibrahim Salisu Buhari defeated him as Speaker in 1999.
When Buhari left the stage, N’aAbba took over as elected Speaker.
