Dallas, Texas in USA, remains the epicenter for Yoruba language, culture, arts, music and fashion shows in the United States. It is home to the Yoruba Cultural Center (yorubacenter.org), a place that is dedicated to the advancement and preservation of Yoruba heritage. It’s a place where you can enroll and learn Yoruba language, dance, beating drums and theater classes. It’s the only one of it’s kind in North America. It focuses on educating the world about Yoruba people, who are the largest and most dynamic ethnic group in Africa.

The YorubaFest this year will hold on the third weekend of this month (15th and 16th). It’s scheduled to be the largest gathering and celebration of Yoruba culture since it’s yearly inception since 2016.

The mayor of Dallas, Mr. Eric Johnson, had proclaimed October 15th, 2022, YorubaFest Day.

From the Royal House of Oduduwa, His Imperial Majesty, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Babatunde Ogunwusi, Ajaja II, the Ooni of Ife, has also declared his blessings for the YorubaFest 2022, in his proclamation today.

All eyes are now on Dallas as we look forward to all the celebrations and festivities of YorubaFest 2022. There will be Yoruba colorful dressings (adire, ankara and aso oke), wonderful foods, performances by the ‘Dundun’ talking drums, ‘Egungun’ masked dancers, art exhibitions and fashion show. Guests and visitors are bound to be entertained by the mix of old-world pageantry with exotic African Yoruba costumes. Everyone is in for a treat. We would like to use this wonderful moment to felicitate with all the Yorubas at home and abroad along with their friends, family and well wishers as we celebrate YorubaFest 2022.
