Yoruba Nation: Lagos withdraws murder charges against detained activist
By Samuel Ogunsona
The Lagos State Government has withdrawn murder charges against Yoruba self determination activist, Tajudeen Bakare.
He was arrested in Lagos alongside 49 others following the protest held at Ojota on July 03.
Police later charged him for the murder of Miss Jumoke, a young lady believed to have been shot by security operatives during the protest. The police charges were greeted with public outcry and suspicion the police having denied earlier that Jumoke was in a fresh incidence on the day of the riot.
Irohinoodua learnt on Wednesday that the Director of Prosecution in the Lagos State Government advised that the murder charges be withdrawn for want of evidence.
Bakare, who is a prominent member of Ogboni has been released, according to reliable sources
