Yinka recovered from COVID-19 but later died of virus complications at Lagos Hospital, grieving wife speaks

Dr Joe Okei-Odumakin, the wife of Afenifere spokesperson, Yinka Odumakin has said that the Pan Yoruba activist contracted COVID-19 but had recovered about two weeks ago.
He said fee days ago, the complication reoccured promting his admission at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital where he died early this morning
In a statement made available to Irohinoodua, Joe Okei Odumakin said announced announced the passing of his beloved husband great beyond after a brief illness.
“The sad event happened this morning (Saturday, 3/4/2021) at the intensive care unit of LASUTH where he was being managed for respiratory issues due to complications from COVID-19 which he had recovered from about a week ago” Mrs Odumakin a radical activist who had met her husband on the field of human rights struggle said in the statement.
She said “I appreciate the outpouring of grief and sympathy from home and abroad as I mourn my irreplaceable soulmate. I urge us all to remain steadfast in the cause of the masses to which he dedicated his life”
Mrs Odumakin said burial arrangement will be made public in due course.
