KAM STEEL PLANT visit: Industry Minister rekindles hope on Industrialisation

In a bid to boost industrialization and foster sectoral collaboration, the Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Dr. Doris Uzoka-Anite has embarked on a significant visit to KAM Steel Integrated Company Limited.

The plant is situated along Holiness Highway in the heart of Igbafa Village, Sagamu, Ogun State.

The indigenous steel manufacturing powerhouse represents a beacon of hope for Nigeria’s industrial aspirations, experts say.

During her tour, Dr. Uzoka-Anite underscored the pivotal role of public-private collaboration in realizing the nation’s industrial potential. She emphasized the necessity of holistic sectoral linkage, a critical component often overlooked in previous industrialization endeavors.

The minister’s visit aligns seamlessly with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to revitalize the economy through industrialization, thereby catalyzing job creation and infrastructure development. Dr. Uzoka-Anite lauded KAM Steel’s cutting-edge infrastructure and applauded its modern production capabilities, affirming its potential to invigorate the nation’s steel sector.

She expressed, “The steel sector stands as a pivotal pillar of Nigeria’s industrial growth, carrying the potential to provide substantial job opportunities for the youth.

“To realise this vision, the government is fully dedicated to implementing an extensive array of measures designed to attract reputable international investors,”.

Highlighting Nigeria’s abundant mineral resources as the cornerstone of economic resurgence, Dr. Uzoka-Anite emphasized the imperative of leveraging the steel industry to democratize the benefits of democracy. She articulated the government’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment to attract international investors, thereby harnessing the sector’s latent potential for sustainable growth.

Echoing her determination to propel Nigeria towards industrial greatness, Dr. Uzoka-Anite pledged to reinforce President Tinubu’s mandate by stimulating investment and job creation. Moreover, she reiterated the government’s resolve to rebrand Nigeria as a premier investment destination, facilitating a conducive business environment for both local and foreign investors.

Dr. Uzoka stated, “It’s time to set Nigeria on the path of greatness through industrialisation and investment,”
