Tinubu meets with NANs, student leaders

President Bola Tinubu has met with leaders of the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANs

It is the first time a Nigerian President is meeting with NANs in decades.

Stocks rose in the Nigerian Stock Exchange indicating a rising hope among investors across the world.

The meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday

The visitation was led by the National Association of Nigerian Students, NANs Executives, Mr Usman Bamrambu, the National Association of University Students (NAUS) President, Mr Obaji Marshal, The National Association of Colleges of Education Students (NACES) President, Mr Aminu Habibu alongside Mr Dotun Omoleye of the National Youth council of Nigeria.

The visitation was to support the President on the students’ loan signed by Tinubu on Monday and also over the removal of fuel subsidy.

Tinubu had earlier promised to pilot a students loan for Nigeria undergraduate students which is part of his campaign promises before the Feb 25th General election.

However, since his emergence as the President of Nigeria, he has shown some applaudable character within the few days in tenure which includes the signing of Electricity Act that wlll de-monopolize electricity generation, transmission and distribution at the national level.

He has also been able to meet with the Service Chiefs and Nigeria Security Advisers (NSA).

Tinubu had a forum with the 35-elected governors in the Country and meeting with some traditional rulers for support of his administration.

Recall in July, 2022, Tinubu-Shettima intervention with the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) was able to put an end to the industrial action (Strike) that had lasted for over seven-months.
