By Samuel Ogunsona
Armed men again have abducted two travellers in Osub State.
The two travellers were seized at gun point between Ife-Ibadan in Osun state. The state has become the South West “axis of evil”with innocent people kidnapped every week.
The latest kidnap was on Saturday around 7pm.
Days earlier, seven people were kidnapped around Osogbo axis
A local vigilante leader who does not wish to be named told Irohinoodua that the armed herdsmen are very active in Osun because of what he called “access to illegal mining activities” in the state.
He said ‘Osun has become a lawless zone. The Amotekun commander is excellent but he is poorly motivated. Little has been done to empower Amotekun and raise the standard to meet the current challenge”
He said illegal mining activities has opened the floodgate to criminal elements from the North East and North West adding that the State Governor is “sleeping and busy fighting his predecessor.”
Irohinoodua was informed that one of the two victims was the driver of a commercial bus heading to Ilesha from Ibadan while the other victim was a passenger.
Other sources said the police engaged the criminals and later drove them from the highway thereby saving many innocent travellers
