Two day-heavy rain predicted for Thursday, Friday says NiMet

Nigerians should prepare for heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning on Thursday and Friday this week, the Nigeria’s most credible weather monitor organisation has said.

Nigeria has been experiencing unusually heavy rain that sometimes stretches to November which in the past had been part of the dry season

The Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NiMet), urged Nigerians to made adequate preparations for the consequences.

The group warned that the rainfall will happen in some parts of Nigeria affecting at least 25 states.

The heavy rainfall will occur on Thursday September 28 and Friday September 29.

NiMet listed the affected states as Katsina, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Gombe, Plateau, Borno, Adamawa, Taraba, Kaduna, Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi, Enugu, Edo, Delta, Bayelsa, Abia, Anambra, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Ebonyi, Kwara, Benue State and the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

The forecast said light or no rain are expected in other parts of the country.
