Court remands Fulani herdsman for bolt driver allegedly kidnapping

The Abuja High Court in Gwagwalada, Irohinoodua heard, has on Wednesday ordered the authorities to remand herdsman, Adamu Idris, in Kuje correctional center.

He was accused of a kidnapping a bolt driver.

The cattle rearer, Adamu, was charged with two counts of kidnapping.

The Judge, Justice Aliyu Shafa, who adjourned the case until June 20, after the 35-year old pleaded not guilty to charges said Adamu should be remanded in Kuje correctional center .

Okokon Udo, the prosecution counsel, told the court earlier that the defendant with his gang conspired to kidnap a bolt driver named, Siman Yakubu, on September 3, 2023, in Galadimawa, Abuja.

He noted that the gang demanded for N100 million ransom from the victim’s family

He said that the defendant and his gang eventually collected N110,000 from the victim before they were apprehended.

He argued Adamu’s offense violates the law provision of section 97 and 274 of the Panel Code.
