Sultan asks Tinubu, FG to support Palestine against Israel

The Sultan of Sokoto who leads Muslims in Nigeria has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to support Palestine against the State of Israel.
The two Middle East nations are embroiled in war that has led to the deaths of thousands on both sides.

The NSCIA asked Nigeria “to come out and stand clearly with the helpless victims of persistent Israeli persecution, massacre, oppression and suppression.”
The Sultan who is the President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar also condemned the United States’ Government for backing Israel in the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
A statement made available to Irohinoodua and signed by Prof. Salisu Shehu and Yunus Ustaz Usman (SAN); NSCIA Deputy Secretary General and National Legal Adviser blamed Palestine for the crisis in the Middle East.
It condemned the war against Palestinians in Gaza urging the Nigerian government to back Palestine.
It asked President Tinubu “to come out and stand clearly with the helpless victims of persistent Israeli persecution, massacre, oppression and suppression.”
Others have cautioned Nigeria not to dabble into the Middle East crisis in to avoid its consequences on Nigerian political stability.
Palestine enjoys support among the huge Muslim population in Nigeria but Israel receives sympathy from millions of Nigerians for religious and historical reasons.
