Satellite internet provider, Starlink, has announced an increase in its subscription rates.
The group cites inflation as the primary reason behind the adjustment.
On Tuesday, the company revealed that both new and existing users will be affected by the price hike.
New customers, Irohinoodua was told would see the new rates take effect immediately, while existing users will pay the increase from October 31.
Under the revised pricing structure, the standard residential plan will now cost ₦75,000 per month. The mobile regional plan (Roam Unlimited) will rise to ₦167,000, and the mobile global plan (Global Roam) will jump to ₦717,000.
Starlink explained that the price changes were necessary due to “excessive levels of inflation,” which have forced the company to adjust its service fees in line with economic conditions.
For customers who no longer wish to continue the service, Starlink emphasized that they are free to cancel their subscription at any time, with no penalties for opting out.
