Sierra Leone appoints Yoruba to head task force on COVID-19

Sierra Leone, a West African country has appointed a Nigerian of Yoruba extraction as the head of the COVID-19 Task Force.
President Julius Maada Bio confirmed Adejayan’s appointment in a letter to President Muhammadu Buhari
Dr. Laoluwa Adejayan was recently appointed as the head of Sierra Leone Covid-19 task force after adjudging him the best foreign medical practitioner in the country.
Irohinoodua received an official statement detailing the appointment of Adejayan who will be on a salary scale of $20,000 per month, having being offered a 100 per cent increase by the Sierra Leonian government
Adejayan is a graduate of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
He worked briefly in Bayelsa State after his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme before transferring his service to the West African country under the Technical Aids Corps scheme, in 2012.
