Bayelsa Poll: The odds against Timipre Sylva

Chief Timipre Sylva has never kept to any terms of Agreement especially to persons he feels superior to.

What is playing out is not just a mere visitation of the three (3) unfriendly uninvited Visitors: Karma, Nemesis and Posterity, there are grand conspiracies in different quarters against him.

Even the APC led Presidency does not want him.

Remember, he was among those who conspired to create artificial fuel scarcity just to paint APC in bad light so that Nigerians will reject the party during the Presidential Election, beside Emefiele’s evil of causing Naira scarcity.

The Buhari cartel who were against the election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu where Sylva belong to, were very powerful but Tinubu was wiser and smarter than them. They did everything within their powers to frustrate the Election of Tinubu.

Sylva shunned the Presidential Inauguration and rather attended the Swearing in of Gov. Siminalayi Joseph Fubara KSC of Rivers State thinking that his romance and fraternization with Nyerisi Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike (NEW) will save him.

Sylva wanted to leverage on the then seeming disaffection between Wike and Gov. Douye Diri which was part of the fall out of the Presidential Election but he failed to understand or consider the dynamic nature of politics.

Again, NEW feels he lost nothing considering the fact that he has Rivers State to himself and he has successfully entered into Nigeria’s political history as the only one who has governed two states (Rivers and FCT Abuja) in our contemporary democracy.

NEW is presently like the de facto President of this great country. Beside sharing a very strong bond with President Tinubu because of the key role that he played in the defeat of Atiku and eventual victory of Tinubu, his positive legacies and antecedents are working in his favour particularly as FCT Abuja is beginning to wear new look of positive development, adequate security and others.

Sylva also thought that Bayelsans and Nigerians have forgotten how he humiliated Senator Heineken Lokpobiri during their battle for control of the party structure in Bayelsa State. He also fought ruggedly and vehemently to stop the emergence of Lokpobiri as Minister, but for the ruggedity of NEW who stood firm to protect the interest of Lokpobiri.

Again, how well has Sylva treated APC Leaders in Bayelsa State starting from Chief David Lyon, Rt. Hon. Werinipre Seibarugu, Very Distinguished Senator Biobarakuma Degi-Eremieyo, Hon. Preye Oseke, Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli, Hon. Gabriel Jonah aka Otita Force, Barr. Festus Daunmiebi and others?

He believes so much in the impoverishment and gross underdevelopment and under empowerment of people around him.

He uses the ‘FOWL and RICE THEORY’ to Impoverish people around him so that people will catch cold whenever he sneezes.

As the general saying goes “nothing shall last forever except the kingdom of God”, today his gimmicks and maradonic tricks have all faded with time.

The SPIRIT OF THE TIME which is in favour of incumbent Gov Douye Diri has destroyed all the goodwill Sylva hitherto enjoyed.

Beside the issue of Court Judgement that bars Sylva from contesting, he has become so unpopular that if allowed to contest, his failure will be too loud.

Many persons around him are complaining about his refusal to release money, they don’t know that Sylva is mindful of the fact that most of them are there to collect their supposed share of the national cake that he deprived them to accessing or getting during his stay at the saddle as Minister of State for Petroleum Resources.

The story of Sylva which is making an interesting read should serve as a lesson to other leaders.

They should know that no human is indispensable or irreplaceable. The positions they all occupy are temporary ones thus their highest achievements are the number of persons they can help with such positions and not the houses or wealth they can amasses because they will all diminish someday.
