A Professor of law at the University of Calabar, earlier accused of sexual assault, Cyril Ndifon has been kidnapped.
He was whisked away at gun point in the early hours of Thursday.
Ndifon was the Dean, Faculty of Law before his suspension following allegations of sexual assault coming from l his female students.
Hundreds of students staged protests against the former Dean of Law prompting the University to set up a panel of enquiry.
On Thursday the gun men stormed his Akpabuyo residence in Akpabuyo local government area of Cross River state.
He was taken away from his family.
Witnesses claimed the armed men visited him short after midnight on Thursday morning
He had earlier complained about threats to his life.
Two weeks ago, he said some armed men trailed him to his Church.
A source in the community told Irohinoodua on phone that the armed men were no fewer than 10.
