The Presidency has revealed plot by opposition Party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to destabilise the President Muhammadu Buhari administration.
Irohin Odua gathered that the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media, Garba Shehu disclosed that the PDP and members of the Insurgent Group, Boko Haram are bent on protesting against service chiefs over alleged insecurity in the nation, however destabilising the government.
Shehu stressed that the PDP is bent on mobilising over 2,000 people to protest against the Service Chiefs, with the aim of discrediting the development strides of the Buhari administration on Security.
The Presidency added that some politicians from the opposition Party and other beneficiaries of the Boko Haram terror group are leading a campaign against service chiefs on Monday.
Over the past few weeks, the service chiefs had come under scathing criticism from Nigerians over their perceived poor response to growing insecurity in the country.
The National Assembly had also urged President Buhari to dispense with the service of the military top-brass over the same matter, saying they have run out of ideas and overstayed their welcome in office.
However, Shehu, said the presidency received reports on plans by some individuals to mobilize rallies against the service chiefs.
According to him, the same set of people had hired some protesters to boo President Buhari during his Wednesday’s visit to Maiduguri, Borno State.
The presidential aide said: “A group of politicians and beneficiaries of the Boko Haram insurgent is right now paying for people to join their planned protest. About 2,000 men and women have been hired to demonstrate against the service chiefs on Monday.
