The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police, (SP) Benjamin Hundeyin expressed condolences to the family. He advised owners of swimming pools across the state to ensure adequate security for users.
“Just a piece of advice, do not use swimming pool without an on-duty lifeguard. D no swim at beaches without capable hands around. Peoples are losing loved ones to avoidable drowning. Three siblings recently drowned together. Eldest was a teenager. Be careful out there,” Hundeyin said. He said the parents fainted after the incident the children being their only wards.
The parents were said to have been out for an event when their children left home for the pool where they drowned. Sources told Irohinoodua that that the swimming pool has no effective security and that the owners have ignored several warnings from the public to provide adequate security for users especially children.
