Over 50 Northern Muslim Clerics Meet Niger leaders

More than 50 Islamic leaders from Norther. Nigeria have met with the new military leader in Niger, General Abdourahamani Tchiani
The meeting too place at the weekend in Niamey, the Nigerien capital.
Top Nigerian Islamic clerics met with the leader of the military coup in Niger, Abdourahmane Tchiani.
The leaders came from Sokoto, Kano, Jigawa, Katsina and other core Northern States.
The delegation was in Niamey to explore peaceful resolution of the leadership crisis in the landlocked country.
General Tchiani overthrew former President Mohamadu Bouzum in late July. He has since formed a cabinet of 21 people.
Nigeria has responded by cutting energy supply while Niger countered with imposition of no fly zone.
The delegates were led by the national leader of the Jama’atu Izalatu Bidi’ah Wa Ikamau Sunna

The national leader of the Jama’atu Izalatu Bidi’ah wa Ikamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS) alongside other Islamic scholars arrived Niger’s capital. Niamey, on Saturday.
The visit was part of the diplomatic efforts to intervene in the impasse between the military junta and ECOWAS, since the military toppled the democratically elected government in the country.
