Ousted Rivers Governor Fubara calls for calm

Ousted Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has addressed the people of Rivers State, urging them to remain peaceful and law-abiding.

He was removed on Tuesday following the declaration of the State of Emergency amidst libgering political turmoil

In his statement made available to Irohinoodua, Fubara emphasized that his administration’s priorities have always been the security of lives and property, as well as advancing the well-being and prosperity of Rivers people.

He noted that despite the political disagreements, good governance has continued, with salaries being paid and great projects being executed to move the state forward.

Fubara also highlighted that Rivers State remains safe, secure, and peaceful under his watch.

The statement comes after President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending Fubara and other elected officials for six months .

Fubara assured the people of Rivers State that his administration will engage with all relevant institutions to ensure that democracy remains strong and the state continues to thrive.

Fubara said, “We have always been a resilient people, and we will face this situation with wisdom, patience, and unwavering faith in the democratic process.”
