The Osun State Government has approved a new minimum wage of ₦75,000 for civil servants.

The State Governor Ademola Adeleke approved the new wage on Wednesday.

The Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Mr. Kolapo Alimi, revealed the development in a statement on Wednesday made available to Irohinoodua.

He said that the decision was based on the recommendations of the Public Service Negotiation Committee.

The committee, comprising representatives from both the government and labuor unions, was led by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Kazeem Akinleye, and the Osun State NLC Chairman, Mr. Christopher Arapasopo.

“The new minimum wage of N75,000 was adopted and approved by the governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for civil servants in the state,” Alimi stated.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of its workforce despite limited resources, highlighting the vital role civil servants play in ensuring efficient and quality service delivery in Osun State.

The commissioner urged civil servants to enhance their service delivery, adopt innovative solutions, and promote transparency and accountability to foster the growth and development of the 33-year-old state.

Chief of Staff Akinleye commended Governor Adeleke for prioritizing the well-being of workers, describing the wage increase as a testament to the administration’s dedication to the workforce.

This move is expected to improve the living standards of civil servants and motivate them to contribute more effectively to the state’s progress.
