By Nenge Donkor, Cotonue

Ilana Omo Oodua , 100 has been hit yet by another internal crisis. The Deputy Alana of Professor Wale Adeniran, has resigned.

Irohinodua sighted his resignation dated Sunday, October 06.

Prof Adeniran from Ile Ife is a French Scholar and well established in Benin Republic where he and Professor Akintoye currently Iive.

Our correspondent learnt that the major problems with Ilana Omo Oodua are lack of effective structure, poor administrative management of the complex coalition, lack of ideological focus, lack of knowledge on how to even wage the self determination groups arising from the absence of experience by some of its cadres, poor finance management mechanism, lack of respect for the organisation’s Constitution, disrespect for organisational discipline and the lack of internal democracy within the group.

Among other things, Irohinoodua heard that the elected officials are poorly coordinated and there seems to be a growing culture of rivalry among some of its officials, this is not to dismiss the fact that the organisation has been infiltrated by state agents and renegades.

The over dependence on media and propaganda, at the expense of real work on the ground in Nigeria has also often exposed the strategies of the group to its foes.

Prof Adeniran who resigned on Sunday was the pioneer Commissioner for Education in Osun-State. Ilana former Spokesperson of Mr. Maxwell Adeleye, resigned from his position last week amidst reports that his resignation was rejected.

In the letter of resignation addressed to Professor Banji Akintoye, the Deputy Leader stated:

“As a matter of principle, I hereby give a notice of my resignation from the position of Deputy Alana, Ilana Omo Oodua Worldwide, with effect from Sunday, November 6th, 2022.

“However, given my irrevocable commitment to the realization of an Independent and Sovereign Yoruba Nation State, separate from Nigeria, I hereby affirm that I remain a dedicated and staunch member of our freedom fighting organization, Ilana Omo Oduduwa.”

Adeniran on his part had said he resigned on “Principle” adding that only him, Professor Banji Akintoye and Almighty God knows”.

With Adeniran’s resignation, it is uncertain how the group wishes to deal with its diminished rank.
