Nigeria loses Insurance giant, Eleoramo

A major player in the Nigerian Insurance industry, Mr Emmanuel Oluwatoyin Eleoramo is dead.

Before his passage on Tuesday, Eleoramo had battled kidney related problems.

He is reputed to be instrumental to the setting up of the Insurance and Actuarial Science department at the University of Lagos where he graduated with first class honours in the 1970s.

Mr Eleoramo is known in the Insurance industry for his hardwork, sincerity, diligence, honesty and affection for everyone that came across him

He was the pioneer Managing Director, Nigerian French Insurance Company from where he went to Sterling Insurance.

His last assignment was as the Managing Director, Nigerian Life Pensions located in Lagos.

He earlier worked at Crusader Insurance at the beginning of his career. He left behind children and a wife.

Eleoramo hails from the Oke Aga family in Irele Ekiti. Locals speak of his remarkable efforts in community development while he also rolled out several scholarship programmes for indigent students when he was alive. The family is expected to announce burial arrangements before the end of the week. Sources told Irohinoodua he will be buried next year, 2023
