Niger Delta leader Edwin Clark,97 joins soulmate Pa Adebanjo in journey to eternal rest

Both Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark and Chief Ayo Adebanjo were soul mates. They were born one year apart and have been together for over 60 years in political struggle.
Both have passed away with Chief Clark joining his friend just three days apart.
Clark, a prominent leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum and former Federal Commissioner for Information passed away at the age of 97 on Tuesday morning.
His death was confirmed in a statement released on Tuesday by a family representative, Prof. C. C. Clark made available to Irohinoodua.
“The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark OFR, CON on Monday, 17th February 2025,” the statement read.
The family expressed gratitude for the public’s support and prayers during this period, adding that further details would be shared in due course.
Clark was a revered political figure and advocate for the rights of the Niger Delta region, playing a crucial role in national discourse for decades.
