Newsbreak:Oba Owolabi Olakulehin emerges new Olubadan

The next Olubadan of Ibadan is Owolabi Olakulehin. Drummers and traditional chiefs have already converged on his Ibadan home. The announcement is expected to be made soon.
From indications, he will be installed as the next Olubadan accoding to more than a century old tradition.
The former Olubadan Oba Lekan Balogun kicked the bucket on Thursday.
Ibadan has a long tradition of succession plans which makes the process smooth. Since 1800s,Ibadan has produced traditional rulers through a chain of succession retaining a long waiting row of no fewer than 30 people. This explains why Olubadan elect are usually of age and often do not stay long on the throne.
The new Oba became Mogaji in 1983
He has climbed the mandatory steps over the years.
He is a retired military officer
Retired from the and former Chairman of Nigerian Army as an Ibadan South East Local Government area.
He is from Ita Baale. He was also in the House of Representives in the Third Republic.
He currently heads the Balogun, war chiefs I’d Ibadanland.
