The Wagner group appears to have signed a new agreement with the new military leaders in Niger Republic.
The new development is expected to complicate plans by Nigerian government under the Economic Community of West Africa, ECOWAS to send troops to Niger to enforce democracy.

Reports reaching Irohinoodua indicated that Wagner signed the agreement with the new military leader on Friday in Niamey.
The implication is that the mercenary group will bring thousands of its soldiers to Niger to support the new government.
General Abdulraomani Tchiani seized power in a military coup that ousted civilian President Mohammade Bozoum who is currently under house arrest.
The new government of Niger signed a contract with the Wagner Group to defend Niger territorial integrity, sources told Irohinoodua on Friday.
France24 journalist reported on Friday evening about the event quoting the French Foreign Ministry.
Western media have previously reported that former chief of staff Moody of Niger Republic was in Mali’s capital, Bamako, “to request for support from Wagner.
