Newsbreak: School principal die in Lagos explosion

The explosion that rocked Lagos on Sunday morning has claimed the lives of the Principal of Bethlehem High School Abule Ado, Irohinoodua was informed on Sunday. The school principal
Rev. Sr Henrietta Alokha, Principal of Bethlehem High School Abule Ado died following the explosion that occurred near pipelines in Lagos on Sunday.
The late Rev. Sr Henrietta Alokha was said to have waged a spirited battle to save the lives of the school pupils.
“She died of suffocation following the explosion. She was traumatised and fought hard to ensure no student was killed” Mr Morka James an official of a school in the area told Irohinoodua. There has not been indication as to the primary cause of the explosion. The National Emergency Management Agency,(NEMA) on Sunday said the explosion was not caused by any disruption of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation )NNPC) oil pipeline.
Mr Ibrahim Farinloye, Acting Coordinator, Lagos Teritorial Office, NEMA said the pipeline explosion had nothing to do with gas pipeline explosion. He said “ From the information given by officials of the Lagos State Fire Service who are currently on ground, the implosion is not connected to pipeline but might have occurred in a factory located in the Abule Ado Area”, he said.
