Newsbreak: Prof Agbaje, others kidnapped by suspected armed herdsmen along Ibadan-Lagos Expressway

An academic, Prof Adigun Agbaje, former Deputy Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan and several others have been kidnapped.
The incidence took place on Friday night along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
Eyewitnesses said four vehicles and all the occupants were whisked away by suspected armed herdsmen.
The vehicles involved were a Toyota Camry, two Jeeps and a Sedam bus
Witnesses put the number of victims at not less than 10. Women and at least a child was said to be some of the victims.
A source told Irohinoodua on Saturday that it happened around Dominion University City of Faith, KM 24, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
“We saw what happened. For a long time the armed men of Fulani extraction have been operating on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. On Friday, they struct again and kidnapped at least ten people” Mufu Bakare a driver who uses the route told our correspondent.
” I was going to Ibadan from Lagos. Suddenly,there was a stamped. We saw the armed men shooting and asking cars to park. They had blocked a portion of the highway. They were able to stop some vehicles. They picked the passengers one after the other” Bakare said.
Another source told Irohinoodua that the kidnappers pretend as hawkers making it easy to occupy the highway even in day time and kidnap unsuspecting travellers.
