Newsbreak: Bomb planted in Lagos discovered by police

The police in Lagos have foiled attempts by unknown persons to bomb Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial hub.

The police discovered the bomb wrapped in a nylon before it exploded.

This came less L than 24 to the planned nationwide protests against economic and social distress occassioned by poverty, hunger and deprivation amidst the opulence of the ruling class.

The police said on Thursday, August 1, its operatives have foiled bomb attack in Ikeja, the seat of the State Government.

The bomb according to the police was planted on the way to the Lagos Airport and was billed to explode before police detectives sighted the strange nylon which turned out to be bomb.

It was planted close to the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) facility in Ikeja.

According to the Commissioner of Police EOD- CBRN, a white Corolla car was sighted parked close to the gate of Police Mobile Force, PMF 23, Barracks along Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way Ikeja when a young man who alighted from the car dropped a bag by the side of the Nigerian Customs Service Federal Operations Unit fence returned to the vehicle and zoomed off.
