Newsbreak: Igboho returns to Nigeria, set for mother’s burial

Yoruba activist, Mr Sunday Adeyemo, (Igboho) has returned to Nigeria.
He set his foot on his fatherland on Thursday, Irohinoodua learnt.
The Yoruba self determination group leader left Nigeria after attempts were made on his life following a string of mass demonstrations that he led.
The Directorate of State Security, (DSS) had stormed his private home at Ibadan leading to the death of one of his aides who was shot by security operatives.
While in exile, the Nigerian authorities attempted to bundle him in a waiting chopper.
A buz or diplomatic efforts led by Yoruba leaders in Benin Republic saved him from repatriation.
Igboho was later freed by the High Court in Benin after which he left for Germany.
Little educated but full of courage and raw determination, Igboho led the resistance against persistent Fulani invasion of his encestral home and other places in Yorubaland shooting his image beyond the roof as a liberator from the chain of native colonialism
A statement by Igboho’s spokesman, Olayomi Koiki, on X page on Thursday, February 22, confirmed reports earlier received by Irohinoodua that the activist has arrived for his mother’s burial.
The statement “I can confirm that Chief Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho is currently on his way to Igboho Town for the final burial of his mother MRS S.A.ADEYEMO.
He said the corpse of
Igboho’s mother was picked up from the mortuary in Saki town in Oke Ogun area of Oyo State.
