Nigerian authorities have scrapped some Federal Ministries.
The decision was taken by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) on Wednesday.
The Ministries affected are Niger Delta Ministry and the Ministry of Sports Development.
The FG is now set to establish the Ministry of Regional Development to oversea the regional development commissions.
The move is part of a broader move to restructure Nigerian Ministries but nor necessarily to restructure the political economy as envisaged by many Nigerians.
The Ministry of Regional Development will oversee Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), the North-West Development Commission, the South-West Development Commission, and the North-East Development Commission.
The Ministry of Sports Development has been scrapped to give way to the National Sports Commission
