
Newsbreak: FG arrests IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu
The Federal Government said it has arrested the leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, (IPOB) Mr Nnamdi Kanu
The Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Malami said Kanu is now in the custody of the Federal Government.
It was not clear how the Federal Government made the arrest as at press time. Irohinoodua gathered that the Nigerian authorities have been making consultations with local and international communities an effort that may have led to his arrest.
The source said the FG presented Britain with evidence linking Kanu with violence in Eastern Nigeria.
Kanu left the country during is trial in Abuja following his protest for self determination for the Igbo Nation.
Observers fear his arrest may spark more crisis instead of dousing the already tempestuous situation in the South East given the huge support he enjoys from millions of his supporters
