Newsbreak: FG alerts on terrorist plots to attack Airports

The Federal Government has raised concerns on plots by terrorists to attack the country’s airports.
A confidential document made available to Irohinoodua indicated concern of the federal authority about plans to attack the country’s airports.
Few days ago, the Ministry of Interior sent a letter to the Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defense, (NSCD) indicating that terrorists were planning to attack the country’s local and international airports.
The letter signed by the Director(Joint Service), P.O. Egbodo with the caption,“Looming Threat of Attack on Nation’s Airports” warned of possible attacks on Nigerian Airports.
The letter read as follows “I am directed to forward herewith letter from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) with Ref. No. NSA/366/S dated 6th April, 2021 on the above subject and to request you to liase/partner with all Airports Management nationwide and other stakeholders to upgrade the existing security measures around the Nation’s Airports in the interim, to prevent such threats”
The letter ended “Please accept the assurances of the warm regards of the Minister”.
There has been increased terrorist activities across the country in the past few weeks with fresh frontiers being opened in areas extremism was previously unknown.
