
Newsbreak: Defence headquarters says Olawunmi was invited to shed light on terrorist sponsors

The Defence Headquarters has said it only invited retired Navy Commodore Kunle Olawunmi for routine discussion and not that he was invited for interrogation.
The Defence Headquarters also said there were o plans to arrest the ex-Intelligence service chief.
Irohinoodua obtained a report by the Defence Headquarters news on line confirming that Olawunmi was invited for a chat with the military authorities.
The Defence Headquarters said the report that Olawunmi had been declared wanted was not true.
“This is false and not true. We are issuing a statement soon. You recall he said he is privileged to lots of information during his interview on Channels. He was only “invite” through text message to come over as a retired military officer to shed more lights with the information that would assist the AFN to further fight against terrorism, insurgency and banditry.”
The Defence Headquarters stated further “Also recall that the Chief of Defence Staff, (CDS) has just concluded his tour of the 6 geo Political Zones where he solicited for the support and cooperation of retired military officers. Arrest of persons was not part of it” the Defence Headquarters said.
Olawunmi had granted interview on Channels TV where he said among other things that the sponsors of terrorism are in the current government and that they are known to the government.
