Newsbreak: APC convention holds February 26

The Convention of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) will now hold on February 26. The Chairman of the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the APC, Mai Mala Buni made the disclosure on Tuesday.
Buni who is also the Governor of Yobe State spoke in Abuja while delivering a paper at the Progressives Women Congress. The APC has been embroiled in internal crisis following the inability of the various tendencies in the party to agree on a date. Sources told Irohinoodua that Buni is under tremendous pressure to ensure the Convention holds in order not to meet the legal specifications of the Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC). The source said the veiled factions in the party realise that the convention will be the determining factor for who emerges the party’s Presidential candidate. Three Presidential aspirants have already emerged in the South West within the APC. The three most notable aspirants are The Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi and former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
