The new Olu of Warri whose coronation is billed for Saturday, August 20 will mark the event with two new world class vehicles, a Rolls Royce and Bentley 2021 model.
The Olu of Warri designate Omoba Tsola Emiko will formally mount the throne of his forefathers on Saturday.
The position of Olu is one of the oldest traditional stool in African history having survived over six centuries. The first Olu of Warr reigned for a period of 30 yeare from 1480 to 1510.
Sources told Irohinoodua that the Olu designate will leave Idaniken to Warri town in the Rolls Royce on Saturday amidst expected mammoth crowd. On Sunday, the Olu of Warri will use the Bentley for the thanks giving.
“We are all set for an historic event. Warri and the entire world is waiting for the new Olu of Warri to resume and take over the leadership of one of the world’s oldest thrones” Oritsebugbemi Malo, one of the palace officials told Irohinoodua.
Meanwhile, the Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty, Ooni Enitan Ogunwusi’s advance team arrived Warri on Friday.
Sources said the Presidency has also despatched a delegation expected to arrive Warri on Saturday morning ahead of the late morning coronation events.
A source told our correspondent that hundreds of traditional rulers from across the country will grace the historic occassion
