National Youth Game:14-Year- old Ekiti athlete wins gold medal in golf competition

Ekiti State 14-year-old youngster, Abdulrahman Mustapha, has won gold medals along side his brother, Abdulrahman Fatai, at the ongoing National Youth Games (NYG) in Asaba, Delta State.
Despite the crisis that rocked the state initially, with their shabby dressing during the opening ceremony of the Youth Games on Saturday, the team heads-up with Abdulrahman Fatai, winning their first gold medal at the ongoing games.
However, The state Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has summoned the head of the sports council, Adekunle Adeyemi, from Asaba, to account for the bad appearance of the young athletes.
The state Assembly has also summoned the officials in charge of sports in the state to appear before the House Committee on Youth and Sport because of their shabby dressing during the opening ceremony of the Youth Games on Saturday.
The competition between September 23 and 30, 2023, across multiple venues in the Delta State capital features 35 different sports, with no fewer than 4,500 athletes from the states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) participating.
The Abdulrahman’s who hail from the same parents stated their goal of becoming world best golfer after defeating Team Borno to win at the golf men’s singles finals.
Both Abdulrahman Fatai and Mustapha who represented team Ekiti in the golf tournament are secondary school students of Ado Grammar School in Ekiti.
Abdulrahman Mustapha expressed his gratitude to God the almighty, his parents and coaching staffs for his success at the tournament.
He also used the medium to thank Ekiti state Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, and his administrative members for their support so far.
Abdulrahman who stressed that the 7th National Youth Games in Asaba was his first also said he wants to be the best golfer player in Nigeria and world at large.
