Naked protester robbed by hoodlums in Lagos

A middle aged man who went naked at the Fawehinmi Park venue of the on-going protest at Ojota has been robbed by hoodlums in Lagos.

The video of the middle aged man who went naked had dominated the Internet space.

Kolawole Owoseni Ogunsona, a father of three had removed all his dresses to lead protesters at Ojota which drew a huge crowd amidst sympathy and excitement.

Sources told Irohinoodua that Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu had sent officials to reach out to Ogunsona promising to find him a job after seeing the demoralising video.

After walking naked for hours, he explained to the huge crowd that he sacrificed his own dignity in order to express the deep-seated anger of Nigerians against their leaders.

Unfortunately, before he got to his destination at Ikorodu, he was robbed by hoodlums who attacked and wounded him.

“I went naked to prove a point that Nigerians have been stripped of dignity by the ruling class” he told Irohinoodua.

Ogunsola hails from Remo, Ogun State but lives in Ikorodu, Lagos.

He expressed his frustration with life, citing lack od employment and financial strain.

He said “I don’t really have any work again. I roam about to eat,” he said.

Ogunsola said he is a father of three, two girls and a boy, but said that his wife and children had left him due to his inability to provide for the family.

On the day of the incident, he said sympathisers gave him money but on his way home he said he was attacked by some crooks who stole the money protesters had contributed to help him, as well as his personal belongings, including his phone and ATM card which he said had no cash deposit.

When asked what he wanted from the community and the government, Kolawole pleaded for a shop to work in, as his previous tools were stolen.

The protest expected to last for 10 days began last Thursday.

The Southern Nigerian Students Coalition on Saturday said by Monday, it’s members participating in the protest have been asked to retreat.
