Nigeria’s first female Professor of indigenous language dies

The first female Professor of indigenous language, Professor Omotayo Olutoye is dead.

The heroine passed this Sunday, sources told Irohinoodua.

She was the first female Nigerian to attain Professorship in any indigenous language. She studied Yoruba language.

Until her death, she was the Yeyeluwa of Idoani Kingdom.

The family is expected to announce the details of her burial this week. Professor Omotayo Olutoye was an indigene of Ilogbo Ekiti, in Ekiti State.

She was married to the Olutoye royal family of Idoani in Ondo State. She is survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren
