Kidnappers kill APC top leader after N50m paid ransom

Kidnappers have killed a top member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) after N50m ransom had been paid.

The ruling party on Friday shut down its National Secretariat in honour of the slain politician, Lateef Adeniji.

He was kidnapped in January this year. Before his death, he was the Director of Admin at the party’s Secretariat.

Adeniji was seized at gunpoint about two months ago in Abuja.

Sources told Irohinoodua that N50m was paid to the kidnappers, yet they killed their prey.

Security sources said the N50m was paid after the victim had been killed.

The All Progressives Congress, (APC) in an internal memo dated April 10 and signed by the Deputy Director Of Administration, Ubagba Abel confirmed the closure of the Secretariat to mourn the death of Adeniji.

Titled: “Secretariat closure for the mourning of the director of administration”, the party asked all staff to use the era mourning to reflect and prayers for the family and the diseased.

The party said “The National Secretary has approved the closure of the National secretariat from all party/work activities with immediate effect till Monday 14th April 2025.

The party noted that the decision was made after he had received the news of the sad demise of the Director of Administration Late Hon. AbdulRaif Adekunle Adeniji.
