Kano NNPP Governor Abba names APC Ganduje, Kwankwanzo others in new Kano Council Elders

The reinstated Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has created a new elders council in the Islamic State of Kano.

The elders council will see to the affairs of the state under his administration.

The Kano Governor nominated his rival and former All Progressivs Congress, (APC) Kano State Governor, iAbdullahi Umar Ganduje into the Council. He also nominated his boss and benefactor, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso into the new Council.

Ganduje is also the current APC National Chairman.

Abba made this known to the public on Sunday during an event in the ancient city of Kano.

Irohinoodua reports that the creation of the council comes after the affirmation of his position as the duly elected governor of the state by the Supreme Court.

Abba said the council would serve as an advisory body of the state under his administration.

The reinstated governor under the umbrella of the New Nigeria People’s Party(NNPP) added that the state would ensure sustainable development and attain apex of development with the Kano Elders Council.

He said, “Membership of the council include former Governors, Deputy Governors, Senate Presidents, Speakers of the House of Representatives who are indigenes of the state, and former Speakers of the State Assemblies”

Other in the Council are retired Supreme Court Justices, retired Appeal Court Justices, former Chief Judges of the state, former Secretaries to the State Government, and former Heads Civil Service in the state”

Abba said traditional and religious leaders in the state are also members of the council.

He added that the inauguration date would be made available to the public

“The date for the inauguration of the council would be announced shortly” he said
