Kano loses Yoruba Professor

Kano has lost yet another academic to an undisclosed illness.
Irohinoodua was informed today that Prof Monsuru Emiola, who until his death was a senior lecturer of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), died today.
The Osun State-born Professor who has his family house at Arowojobe Estate, Mende in Lagos died at the Bayero University Teaching Hospital after an undisclosed illness.
The late Professor was a Senior Lecturer with the Physical and Health Education Department, Faculty of Education.
“He was a very kind-hearted academic. He was also popular in Kano. He was looking up to his retirement when he died”, a source told Irohinoodua.
Our correspondent was informed that his wife was in the United States as at the time of his death.
Kano has seen many deaths in recent times many of which were attributed to COVID-19 spread in the ancient city.

Recall that another lecturer from the same university, Prof Balarabe Maikaba, of the Faculty of Communication, died on April 26.
