Just In: Gabonese president speaks from captivity

The Gabonese president, Ali Bongo, speaks from detention of the military junta who arrested him in the early hour on Wednesday.

Shortly after the declaration of Ali Bongo as the third term re-elected president of Gabon, Group of 12 senior military officers have declared the cancellation of the election results and closure of every borders in Gabon with the president under house arrest.

Ali Bongo has sent a sympathetic message to friends around the world in a 50 seconds video shared on social media monitored by Irohinodua.

According to him, he said people should speak up against Gabon military coup to safe the country and his family outside.

“I am Ali Bongo, the president of Gabon. I am sending this message to my friends all over the world to make noise for the people here have arrested me.

My son is somewhere and right now I am in the residence and I don’t know what is going on and I am calling you to make a noise” He said
