Senator Nwoko secures release of family who manufactures AK 47, drones

Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta State has secured the release of a family earlier arrested by the military for manufacturing drones and AK-47.

Father and son were arrested in Delta State for producing locally made drones and AK-47 which could go up to 60 rounds.

Ned Nwoko is the Senator representing Delta North senatorial District at the National Assembly.

Following a tip off, Security operatives stormed their house and arrested the family.

The factory is located at Onicha-Olona community in Delta State.

His desire he said was informed by the need to tap from the potentials inherent in the fabricators for national development and for talent discovery.

The Senator visited the headquarters, 63 Brigade, Asaba where he said productive discussions were held after engagement with the Brigade Commander.

He said he was pleased to announce progress in addressing the situation regarding the illegal arms factory discovered in Onicha-Olona community, Delta State.

The Senator said “Efforts have been made to ensure fair treatment for those involved, balancing justice with the opportunity for rehabilitation and contribution to society.

He said he was happy to reveal that through collaborative efforts, he successfully secured the release of four family members implicated in the illegal activity.

He said “However, our commitment to upholding the law remains unwavering, and endeavours continue for fair judgment and potential pardon for the remaining four individuals.

Nwodo said the underlying issue highlighted by the discovery remains of paramount importance.

“We must seize the opportunity to redirect the talents demonstrated by those involved towards lawful and productive endeavours,” he said
