Niger coupists form new government, appoint 21-ministers

Niger military leadership has formed a néw government with 21 list of ministers to see the affairs of the country.
The move comes amidst decision of Economic Community of West African States, (ECOWAS) decision to create a stand-by force that may intervene in Niger.

Since the overthrow of Niger’s constitutional president, the coupists have refused to return the president into power, ignoring the deadline given by ECOWAS.
The meeting held in Abuja on Thursday by the 15 member states to discuss resolutions of the crisis, the bloc promised to enforce sanctions and travel bans on those preventing the return to power of democratically elected President Mohamed Bazoum.
According to the Chairman of ECOWAS, and Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu, all options including the use of force remain on the table to restore constitutional order in Niger
He said “No option is taken off the table, including the use of force as a last resort,” said Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu, the ECOWAS chair, at the end of the summit.
“We remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting Niger in the journey towards peaceful democratic stability,” he said.
“I hope that through our collective effort we can bring about a peaceful resolution as a roadmap to restoring stability and democracy in Niger. All is not lost yet.”
