Kenya police arrest Binance chief who fled Nigeria

The Kenya police authorities have arrested the regional Binance principal in Africa, Nadeem Anjarwalla, who fled Nigeria using smuggled passport.

Nadeem who escaped from Nigeria custody March 22, 2024, was arrested in Kenya, Irohinoodua was told on Monday.

The International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL), are in talk with Nigeria government for proper extradition, sources said.

Irohinodua was informed that Nadeem fled Nigeria through Abuja. International Airport.

It is unclear how he managed to leave the country coupled with the fact that Nigerian government had seized his British passport when he was arrested.

According to the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA), who confirmed his escape from Nigeria said a thorough investigation revealed he fled the Country using a smuggled passport.

The Nigeria government had accused Binance of exacerbating the country’s foreign exchange through rate manipulation for profit.

The cryptocurrency company was also accused of some illegal operations in the Country while the government restrict access to the company’s website.
