Bomb explosion in Kaduna injure nine Children

A bomb has exploded in Kaduna injuring nince children.

The incidence took place on Saturday in Kidandan, Giwa LGA of Kaduna state.
Police authorities in Kaduna said the source of the bomb was unknown but that the children were not a target.

Mansir Hassan, police spokesperson in Kaduna said some children picked an object not knowing it was a bomb. He said the object exploded while they were playing with it.

“We received the information through the DPO. You know that area is the operational area where the security agencies are conducting a lot of operation in the bush,” the police told The Cable

He said “the young boys went to the bush and they saw an object and took it to the school.

He said when they got to the school, since they didn’t know what the object was, they decided to open it to see and that in the process, it exploded and left about nine of them injured.

He said victims are receiving treatment in hospitals.

A member of the Southern Kaduna Youth Movement, SOYUM, Isaac Bade called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation to determine the source of the bomb.

“We are worried. Who dropped the bomb? Who made the bomb? What is the purpose of the bomb? There are manu questions unanswered,” he said
