Group to provide free food, clothing for needy Nigerians

By Stella Mammah

A team of pro-life activists have launched a new campaign that will provide free food for millions of Nigerians especially low income earners wrecked by the COVID-19 meltdown.

The project is aimed at reaching millions of homes who are either unemployed or those who may have lost their jobs.

The new initiative tagged “A Million Smiles At Christmas” will see the group provide millions of poor households with relief materials mainly foodstuff and clothing.

“We hope to touch millions of Nigerians who are desperately in need of food and clothing especially during the coming Christmas. We target children, women and the aged” the Executive Director Judith Otibho said in a statement made available to Irohinoodua

The project has been designed to reach the country’s six geo politic zones including the North East which is most hit by poverty and misery with no fewer than half a million people in camps of Internally Displaced Peoples, (IDPs)

She said her team launched the project to bring comfort and succor to vulnerable citizens especially the less privileged.

“The initiative has been established as a platform for the Season of Christmas which represents love, support to individuals and families that are in need of help, companionship and friendship” she said

The group recalled that Covid-19 Pandemic, lockdowns and the recent looting in major cities in Nigeria, have resulted in more hardship for the Nigerians.

“All hands must be on deck to cushion the effects of the crisis, hence this initiative. Our goal is to create an enabling environment that would generate A Million Smiles this season”

The founder and Coordinator of the Project Ms. Judith Otibho, is a Digipreneur/Entrepreneur, event planner and humanitarian.
