Newsbreak: Tinubu appoints AIG Odumosu as EFCC Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of former Lagos State Commissioner of Police Hakeem Odumosu as the Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, (EFFC)

The appointment followed days of speculations and denials.

The appointment was announced Wednesday by the Presidency

Odumosu had retired from the police in 2019 following a successful career

He joined the police in 1990 and served for 32 years.

Mr Odumosu, nicknamed “Tango One” for his tactics in dealing with criminals was the first chairperson of Lagos State Environmental Special Offences Enforcement Unit (Taskforce) and also the Commander of the State-funded Rapid Response Squad (RRS

During his passing out parade years back, the Governor of Lagos State Babajide Sanwo-Olu described him as “nemesis” of criminals
