An Osun State High Court met public expectations on Monday when the Court sentenced to death the proprietor of Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife

Ramon Adedoyin, who had also contested for the Ooni of Ife stool, was found guilty of conspiracy and murder of a post graduate student that lodged in an Hotel he owns.

Timothy Adegoke, a former Masters degree student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, was murdered at Hilton Hotel, between November 5 and 7, 2021.

The Osun Chief Judge, Adepele Ojo, while delivering her ruling said the circumstantial evidence available to the court, led to the conclusion that the killing of Adegoke while being a guest at the hotel owned by Adedoyin was not without the knowledge of the suspect.

She said Adedoyin’s objection to entering the witness box did not assist his case.
Sources told Irohinoodua that Adedoyin would appeal the sentence at the Court of Appeal.
