FG takes over NDDC, appoints sole administrator

The Federal Government has on Thursday appointed a sole adminiatrator to manage the affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission, (NDDC)
The central authority appointed Dr Dabota Godswill Jumbo as the sole Administrator for initial period of six months.
In a statement on Thursday signed by
Presidential spokesperson, Mr Femi Adesina said the Presidency has received
receipt the Senate Recommendation that the NDDC IMC be dissolved and
that the NDDC be returned to the Presidency for proper supervision.
He said the Federal Government set up a Technical Committee to study earlier recommendations and advise it which committee has turned in its recommendation that the Presidency should take full control of the NDDC.
The statement noted that the “Federal Government hereby accepts the Recommendation of the Senate and accordingly”
The recommendatione are that the President should dissolve the NDDC IMC and that the affected officers are to hand over to the most senior civil servant under them.
The Presidency also said that the NDDC is hereby returned to the Presidency for proper supervision.
The statement added “The President assures Niger Deltans that the forensic Audit of the Commission will continue unhindered.”
